Our Source to Patient Philosophy

Why are the details important?

Medicines with naturally sourced active ingredients can vary considerably depending on the species of plant chosen, the way they are grown and harvested, and the extraction and production processes. So it’s essential to ensure the specific active ingredient in your product is the same as that researched in clinical trials.

In Ginsana, we take care to use the same specific extract (G115®) that's been proven in clinical studies to help support energy and endurance.2 That’s why you can be confident that Ginsana can offer the same benefits as demonstrated in the clinical trials.

FAQs

Each Ginsana capsule contains the specific standardised G115 ginseng extract from the roots of Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer. G115, with a standardised amount of ginsenosides at a concentration of 4%. Therefore, you can be more confident that products with G115 can deliver the health outcomes demonstrated in clinical trials on this specific extract.

The cultivation of ginseng plants follows the international guidelines of the Good Agriculture Practice (GAP). After harvesting, only the 5-7 year old roots are processed via a standardised extraction method which is used to prepare the extract. Analytical controls ensure the absence of contamination. At the end of the extraction, the G115 is standardised and additional studies with the finished product (Ginsana) are carried out - to support its quality, tolerability and reliability. Ginsana is the result of more than 35 years of clinical research.2

Ginsana is an adaptogen that favours homeostasis. It supports energy, but is not a stimulant. Ginsana may help with mental and physical endurance and improve immune response, including when stressed or fatigued.

Ginsana is ideal for people who have multiple tasks to fulfil at home and business, with activities that require energy support, family caring, or demanding recreational activities such as sport.

It is recommended to take Ginsana regularly for at least 4 weeks. The benefits for some people are felt quite quickly, within hours, however for full benefits clinical results suggest taking Ginsana for up to 3 months.2,10 If you have specific questions about taking Ginsana, it is important to speak with a health professional.

Take Ginsana at about the same time each day, with breakfast or lunch or as directed by your health professional. Taking it at the same time will have the best effect. It will also help you remember when to take it.

Studies with pregnant or breastfeeding women are so far not available. In the absence of sufficient data, the use of Ginsana during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended. It is important to speak with a health professional if you have specific questions or concerns.

Use in children under 12 years of age is not recommended.

Studies with children and adolescents are so far not available. In the absence of sufficient data, it is not recommended for children or adolescents. However, it is recommended you speak to your health care professional if you have specific questions or concerns.

Ginsana capsules need to be swallowed whole.

Tell your health professional if you are taking any other medicines, including any that you get without a prescription. Some medicines and Ginsana may interfere with each other. These include: blood thinning medications (medicines that increase the tendency to bleed), such as anticoagulants, antithrombotics, and antiplatelet medicines.

If you are about to be started on any new medicine, remind your health professional that you are taking Ginsana.

Ginsana contains gelatin of bovine origin.

Ginsana contains a small amount of lactose (55.5 mg), and no added gluten, wheat, soy, yeast, egg, salt, artificial flavourings, colours, or preservatives. Ginsana capsules do not contain any caffeine or stimulants.

Tell your health professional if you have galactose intolerance (galactosaemia).

Yes, Ginsana capsules contain a small amount of mannitol.

If you are going to have surgery or dental procedures, tell your healthcare professional you have been taking Ginsana. It may increase the risk of bleeding and may affect other medicines used during surgery. It is recommended to stop Ginsana at least 2 weeks before surgery. However, it is important to discuss this with your healthcare professional, including your anaesthetist and surgeon.

Skip the dose you missed and take your next dose when you are meant to. Do not take a double dose to make up for the dose that you missed.

If you have trouble remembering to take your medicine, ask your health professional for advice.

We've recently introduced a fresh new look across our portfolio of evidence-based medicines. Previously represented by the Flordis brand, we've introduced SFI Health as our primary brand to represent our company and products worldwide. This enables us to leverage the wider expertise within our company, share more of what we do with regional markets, including product launches and scientific support and in this way better help you to experience better health outcomes.

While we are transitioning from Flordis to SFI Health, all our products remain the same high quality, clinically researched natural health products that you know and trust.
